A resolution establishing the Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence.

(a) Authorization. For purposes of carrying out this resolution, the Select Committee may make expenditures from the contingent fund of the Senate, subject to applicable law, Senate rules, and the approval of the Committee on Rules and Administration of the Senate.

(b) Permissible expenditures. Expenditures authorized under subsection (a) may include—

(1) compensation of personnel employed by the Select Committee;

(2) procurement of the services of consultants, technical experts, and consulting organizations;

(3) expenses associated with hearings, investigations, depositions, and other committee proceedings;

(4) acquisition of equipment, technology, and other resources necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the Select Committee; and

(5) such other administrative and operational expenses as are necessary to carry out this resolution.

(c) Budget. The Chairperson and ranking member of the Select Committee shall jointly develop and submit the budget of the Select Committee for consideration and approval in accordance with applicable Senate rules and procedures.

(d) Allocation of resources. Funds made available to the Select Committee for personnel shall be allocated in accordance with section 7(b).
