Public Safety Officers’ Benefits Enhancement Act of 2026

Section 1201(k) of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C. 10281(k)) is amended—

(1) in the matter following paragraph (3), by striking or was directly and proximately caused by something other than the mere presence of cardiovascular-disease risk factors;

(2) by striking paragraph (3);

(3) in paragraph (2)(C)—

(A) by striking 24 hours and inserting 72 hours; and

(B) by striking ; and at the end and inserting ,; and

(4) in paragraph (1)(B), by striking the semicolon at the end and inserting ; and.
