Sec. 2. Extension of deadlines for certain fiscal recovery and critical capital projects funds

(a) State fiscal recovery fund. Section 602(c)(5)(E) of the Social Security Act is amended by adding at the end the following: Notwithstanding the previous sentence, such funds provided for projects related to broadband infrastructure may be expended through September 30, 2027..

(b) Local fiscal recovery fund. Section 603(c)(6)(D) of the Social Security Act is amended by adding at the end the following: Notwithstanding the previous sentence, such funds provided for projects related to broadband infrastructure may be expended through September 30, 2027..

(c) Capital projects fund. Section 604 of the Social Security Act is amended by—

(1) redesignating subsection (d) as subsection (e); and

(2) by inserting after subsection (c) the following:

(d) Availability. Funds provided under a payment made under this section for a project related to broadband infrastructure may be expended prior to January 1, 2028.
