I Rail Safety

Sec. 120. Increased funding for the railroad crossing elimination grant program

Section 22104(a) of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (Public Law 117–58) is amended to read as follows:

Text this section adds to the law

(a) In general

(1) Authorization of appropriations. There is authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary for grants under section 22909 of title 49, United States Code, $1,500,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2026 through 2029.

(2) Summary required. In order to be eligible for the funds authorized under paragraph (1), a State department of transportation shall submit to the Federal Railroad Administration a summary of the most dangerous grade crossings in the State.
